LAHS Toppers Win Against Bloomfield Bobcats Friday

The Los Alamos Hilltopper football team rips their way onto Sullivan Field Friday night for a football extravaganza. The Toppers were to play the Bloomfield Bobcats who had a record of 5-1 entering this game. There was a large jubilant crowd in attendance and they were not disappointed with all the evenings events. The NJROTC presented the colors and the Topper marching band was in attendance and performed at halftime. The Toppers played one of their best games beating the tough Bobcats 28-20. Ski season is right around the corner! Today marks 99 days until the kickoff of the ski season for Pajarito Mountain, which will open for the 2018/19 season Friday, Dec. 21.
 
El Niño is forecast for the 2018/19 season, which means more powder days at Pajarito! The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting El Niño conditions for this winter, which tend to produce a greater than average snowfall across the southern Rockies, benefiting New Mexico.

LAHS Girls Varsity Soccer Win Against St. Michaels

LAHS Girls Varsity Soccer caught fire in the second half to secure a non-district win against St. Michaels High School. Aix Hailey had a hat trick scoring two of her goals in 38 seconds in the 2nd half. Two of her goals were assisted by Alissia Haagenstad and Valerie Li. Anna Matuszak scored in each half assists from Kaitlyn McGrane. The defense was stingy all evening allowing St. Mike’s only made 6 shots. LAHS Toppers Mercy Rule Pojoaque Elks 51-0

Lawrence Armenta congratulates Peter Janke after the game. The score board shows the lopsided score at the end of the game, as the Toppers mercy ruled the Pojoaque Elks 51-0 in a game played Friday night on Jocona Field at Pojoaque High School. The Toppers had little trouble with the Elks as they scored three touchdowns in the first quarter, and racked up the rest as the game played out. Scenes From Topper Volleyball Against Sartans

The Topper volleyball team takes to the floor to play an old foe, the St. Pius Sartans in Griffith Gym last Tuesday evening. The Toppers have not won a volleyball match with the Sartans since 2017. This match-up almost changed that and was one of the most exciting matches in recent history. The Toppers easily won the first set 25-15. The second match was very close but the Sartans won 26-28. The third set was all Sartans 13-25. However the Toppers came back in the fourth set winning 28-26. The Sartans managed to win the fifth set 15-17 and won the match.
