Three School Board Meetings Scheduled Next Week

The Los Alamos School Board has scheduled a Special Meeting for 11 a.m. Monday, April 9 at 2075 Trinity Dr., Suite V to hear a presentation by Dr. Peter Goldschmidt from the Public Education Department on the A-F school grading system.
The Los Alamos School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 at the Los Alamos High School Speech Theater.
The Los Alamos School Board also is meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 12 at the Coffee Booth to review board policies.

College Advisory Board to Review GO Bond

UNM- Los Alamos Advisory Board is set to meet at 5:30 p.m., April 9 in the college lecture hall.
The board is scheduled to discuss the General Obligation (GO) Bond Election for November as well as UNM-LA student housing.
Presentations are scheduled for Paul Terp and Myron Koop on the ETEBA Scholarship.
The board will recognize the Robotics Team #4153 “Project-Y” for its recent competition in Utah.

The dancer is constructed out of old records painted in a kaleidoscope pattern. A slight touch to her circular hips sets her dancing. As the sculpture sways to a rhythm all of its own, the theme of the Fuller Lodge Art Center’s newest show, “Rhythm and Rhyme” also seems to spring to life.
The whole show, Art Center Director Ken Nebel said, “is inspired by poetry, in one way, shape or form.”

Los Alamos County Tops State Health Rankings
Los Alamos County tops the list in county health rankings for New Mexico, according to the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program, a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
The County Health Rankings measure the health of nearly all counties in the nation and rank them within states.
The Rankings are compiled using county-level measures from a variety of national and state data sources.

ICAC Task Force Executes 13 Search Warrants

New Mexico State Attorney General Gary K. King and U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales announced today that, during the last three weeks, federal, state and local law enforcement affiliates of the New Mexico Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force executed 13 search warrants as part of “Operation Artemis.”
Operation Artemis was aimed at identifying individuals throughout New Mexico involved in the distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography through peer-to-peer file sharing programs.
