Environmental Scientist Chick Keller Speaks Today at Kiwanis Luncheon

April 3-Environmental scientist Chick Keller will discuss Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) Earth Day events scheduled April 21 and the Nature Center capital improvement project.

April 10-Los Alamos Kiwanis President Kristy Ortega will speak on what she learned at the recent Kiwanis Southwest District Midwinter Conference in Las Cruces.

As part of her talk, Ortega will present detailed information on the Kiwanis International campaign to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus, a huge killer in poor countries.

April 17– Gloria Maestas from the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office will discuss the June 5 Primary Election Day voting and the new “Voter Convenience Centers.”

April 24-Committee Meetings.

May 1-Rose Montoya will speak on Boys and Girls Club and the Lunch Buddy Program.

Kiwanis meets noon to 1 p.m., Tuesdays at the Masonic Temple on Sage, near the intersection of 15th Street and Canyon Road. Speakers and topics are occasionally subject to change because of illness, conflicts or weather.
