Public Invited to Ashley Pond Park Renovation Meeting
COUNTY News:
The County will hold an informational meeting to show the public the 90 percent Final Design Plans for Ashley Pond Park renovations at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the Pajarito Room at Fuller Lodge.
County Parks Manager Dick McIntyre and the consultant, Sites Southwest LLC, will present the plans for upcoming construction.
The County is scheduled to issue the Notice to Proceed in February 2013. The project will be sent out for construction bids in late December and the bid is expected to be awarded by Council by the end of January.

NNSA Saves More Than $519M Through Strategic Sourcing

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) today announced that the agency has saved taxpayers $519.3 million since 2007 through strategic sourcing.
In 2010, Secretary Steven Chu recognized NNSA for saving $213 million over the prior four years, but challenged the agency to increase cumulative savings to $450 million by 2012.

Huge Yard Sale to Benefit Fire Damaged Church

The New Beginnings Fellowship Church will hold a benefit yard sale starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.
Anything that is donated to the yard sale will be greatly appreciated by the chuch, which suffered heavy fire damage in July.
