Aspen Elementary School Physical Education Teacher Adam Garcia organized the first school-wide outdoor “Field Day,” in which all 400 Aspen students spent Thursday afternoon participating in races, hulahoop contests, water balloon relay and other field events at the school.

Wickham is a female tortoiseshell who has quickly warmed up to volunteers and will rub against their legs when she wants some attention.
After being petted her for a while, Wickham will roll over and show off the little white spots on her belly.
Wickham and other adoptable pets are available at the Los Alamos County Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, (505) 662-8179.

Effective immediately, and in concert with the New Mexico Forestry Division, Los Alamos County is under Stage I Fire Restrictions.
The following acts are prohibited until further notice:
- Building, maintaining, attending or using an open fire, campfire, charcoal or wood stove on all Los Alamos County lands. (See Exemption 1 below)
- Smoking is prohibited except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least 3-feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.
