The Los Alamos Middle School MathCounts team placed first Saturday in the Northern New Mexico Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition at Pojoaque High School.
The team was made up of Do Vo, Christopher Koh, Antonio Dowdy and Duncan Fuehne. Vo placed first as an individual, Koh placed 2nd, Dowdy 3rd and Fuehne placed 4th. The team coaches are Phuong Nguyen and Jane Lataille.

How the Hen House TurnsLast week I reviewed our experience building the Hen House. What amazed me then, and still resonates now, is how the birds adapted to our ideas.
They laid eggs in the nest boxes. They entered the House at dusk and sat on the roosts to sleep. Prescribed Burns Planned On Santa Fe National Forest’s Cuba Ranger District

SANTA FE – Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest plan to continue the La Jara prescribed pile burns on the Cuba Ranger District this week.
The La Jara prescribed pile burns, a remaining total of 56 acres, may continue through March 30, only if conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts, are favorable. Small blocks may be treated each day to decrease the daily smoke volume.

Legislation To Expand State’s Voyeurism Law Passes House Floor With Unanimous Vote

SANTA FE – Legislation that would crack down on sexual predators attempting to secretly view or record a person’s intimate areas has passed the House floor by a bipartisan vote of 59-5.
