TAOS — The Greg Moon Art Gallery in Taos is calling for entries from artists across the United States for the gallery’s “After Dark IV” show, celebrating the concept of darkness and the varied reactions, which are emblematic to this concept.
The entry deadline is 11:59 p.m., April 15.
Entries are being accepted in the mediums of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, glass and assemblage.
Jurors who will be judging the entries include:
- Copro Gallery owner, promoter and co-founder of Juxtapoz Magazine, Greg Escalante;
- artist, promoter, curator and co-producer of Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival;
- Joe Buffalo Nickels; and
- artist, curator and owner of Greg Moon Art, Greg Moon.
A minimum of four entries is required, with no more than eight entries accepted. Entry fees are $40 with a $10 media fee per image.
The show is open to all U.S. based artists, 18 years and older. All photography prints (with the exception of Polaroid, platinum, and albumen) must be at least 8×10 (image size). All works must be for sale and remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition. Any work not comparable to the file submitted can be rejected at the juror’s discretion. All works must be ready to hang or display. All works requiring glazing must use plexiglass. All works will be treated in a professional manner. Greg Moon Art is not responsible for any damage to or loss of artwork while in the gallery’s possession or in transit. Artists may insure their works if they wish.
Artists will be paid 50 percent of all art sales, the gallery will retain the other 50 percent. All purchased works must remain in the gallery until the end of the exhibit. Artists will be given the contact information for clients who purchase their work. Entries will be accepted online only at callforentry.org. Artists are responsible for picking up or arranging shipping for any work not sold by the end of the show period. The exhibition runs June 6-27, with an opening reception June 6.
