Unavoidable Tough TopicNo one likes to talk about our own or a loved one’s death. However, as much as we may wish to avoid the conversation, the event is unavoidable.
Planning things ahead of time will grant some peace of mind and lessen the family’s burden of making so many difficult decisions at the time of death.

Life in Bandelier … the Ancestral Pueblo people lived in Bandelier from approximately 1150 CE to 1550 CE. They built homes carved from the volcanic tuff and planted crops in mesatop fields. Corn, beans, and squash were central to their diet, supplemented by native plants and meat from deer, rabbit, and squirrel.
Domesticated turkeys were used for both their feathers and meat while dogs assisted in hunting and provided companionship.

As part of the Sciencefest activities happening this weekend, the Los Alamos Arts Council hosted the annual Sec Sandoval Chalk Walk Saturday at Ashley Pond.
The Los Alamos Arts Council sold squares of pavement of the old bandstand near the police station to chalk enthusiasts for $5 and chalk was available for purchase.
Judges evaluated the entries and awarded prizes. This event was open to all ages and drawing abilities. Lyndsay Morel, an artist from We Talk Chalk, installed a 3-D chalk drawing.
