A big congratulation goes out to the Los Alamos County Little League Senior Girls Softball Team for winning the New Mexico State Little League Softball Championship.
The team played their way through the District Tournament and won it, which gave the team the opportunity to play in the State Tournament.
The State Tournament was played in Bernalillo at the Coronado Park. In the first game, Los Alamos played a team from Bernalillo and won by a commanding score of 28-4.
For their next game, they played the District 10 Little League All-stars and won by a score of 13-3 in five innings.
That win placed the Los Alamos team in the championship game played Sunday. Their appointment turned out to be the team from Bernalillo, which they had beaten earlier.
The second meeting of these two teams was almost the same as the first, with Los Alamos winning by a score of 16-1. With this win, the Los Alamos All Stars won the State Title and a berth in the Regional Tournament July 21-23 in Vidalia, La.
Los Alamos County Little League Senior Softball Team remained undefeated in both the District and State Tournaments.
