NMDOT Reminds Drivers To Slow Down In School Zones

NMDOT News:
SANTA FE — With some schools providing in-person learning at reduced capacity, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) reminds drivers to watch for children in and around school zones.
“It has been a while since drivers have had to slow down in school zones, stop for school buses or wait for children and parents to clear crosswalks,” Transportation Secretary Mike Sandoval said. “We don’t want anyone getting hurt. Be extra vigilant and keep an eye out for kids, especially around school zones.”

The Los Alamos School Board, with input from staff and the community has received applications from two candidates for a vacancy on the School Board created when Julia Baker stepped down because her family is moving to Spokane, Wash.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 150 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
Los Alamos County remains at 24 cases today that have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update announces 5 additional deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:
- 32 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 12 new cases in Chaves County
- 1 new case in Cibola County
- 3 new cases in Curry County
