Los Alamos Firefighters Save Burning Home On Ridgeway

Los Alamos Firefighters respond to the scene of a house fire at about noon today on Ridgeway Drive. Firefighters doused the fire in short order and saved the home. Local businesses, residents and visitors are asked to show their love for Los Alamos throughout the month of February by taking a selfie with one of many heart-themed frames or posters produced and distributed around town at local businesses or County facilities.

Individuals are asked to share their photo and post it on social media such as Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #LoveLosAlamos.

Police Chief Dino Sgambellone released crime statistics for 2019 today, which were compiled by the Records Section of the Los Alamos Police Department.

Offenses reported as crime statistics are determined by the FBI Uniform Crime Report Program and are classified as crimes against persons (violent crime) and crimes against property.

County Invites Public To North Mesa Housing Study Meeting At Municipal Building Thursday Jan. 30

Los Alamos County and its consultant will host a public meeting on the North Mesa Housing Study at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 in Council Chambers (1000 Central Ave).

The County is seeking to create a design concept for workforce housing on approximately 30 acres of land located on North Mesa, east of the Los Alamos Middle School, between the school, soccer fields, North Mesa Road and San Ildefonso Road.

The land is owned by the Los Alamos Public Schools District. The overall goal for the project is to generate a concept that can be carried into design and development.
