We have some good candidates running for the UNM-LA Advisory Board, and top among them is David Hampton.

David Hampton is committed to community service. He has served on multiple Boards. Those that I remember without googling include the P&Z, County Transportation, Arts Council, Parks and Rec, the Coop—and most importantly for this endorsement, the UNM-LA Advisory Board.

Director Thom Mason’s recent letter on the proposed gross receipts tax increase demonstrates that LANL is willing to weigh in publicly on county policy matters that affect the Laboratory. Why a Bike Park? The estimated cost ($500,000 to $800,000) of the “Bike Park” is an excessive expense. In light of the current political and budgetary environment (“shut-down”, current furloughs, and terminations), Los Alamos should be squirreling money away for an unknown future.
