Lobos’ Alex Kirk Declares For NBA Draft!

The Kirk Family of Los Alamos just told the Los Alamos Daily Post that Lobos basketball player Alex Kirk will forgo his senior season and declare for the NBA Draft.

is a graduate of Los Alamos High School and will graduate from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque in May with a business degree.

His father Alan Kirk, a longtime Los Alamos coach, addressed his son’s decision to go pro.

“Alex has an opportunity to pursue a dream and we support him in his decision,” Kirk said.

LAHS Annual Spring Invite Tees Off Monday

Los Alamos High School Golf’s annual Spring Invite is set with a 9 a.m. shotgun Monday, April 14.

Coach Mike Lippiatt said there is a pretty light field this year.

“We had a bunch of teams signed up over one month ago but now this week a lot of the coaches are emailing me, telling me they forgot next week was their schools spring break … so they’re dropping out,” he said. “I’m pretty sure some spring breaks changed this year because we’ve had our spring invite on the same Monday for the past four years and we’ve never had this conflict.”

Senior Olympics Registration Deadline Extended

SENIOR OLYMPICS News:

The 2014 Los Alamos Senior Olympics has extended the registration deadline. Register at the Family YMCA.

The Olympics begin April 11 with the basketball free throw, three point shot, and Frisbee accuracy and end May 10 with the softball throw, soccer kick, and Frisbee distance with a number of events held in the one month period in between.

Krohn and Kratzer Tie For Best Predictor In Weekly Pace Race

This week’s Pace Race was held on the Lower Bayo Canyon Road near the Route 4 and 502 junction and Susan Krohn and David Kratzer were the top predictors at 18 seconds off their estimated time.
