Los Alamos Tennis Club Defeats Alto Park For Third Straight Win

SPORTS News:

The Los Alamos Tennis Club (LATC) defeated the Alto Park Tennis Club (APTC) 3-2 in matches played Sunday, April 6, at Urban Park.

Two singles and three doubles matches were contested. The teams play in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Northern New Mexico Adult 18 & Over League for men rated up to 3.5 in the USTA’s rating system.

In Number 1 singles: Geoff Mills of the LATC defeated Brewster Fitz in two sets 6-4, 6-1.

In Number 2 singles: Shuh-Rong Chen of the LATC was defeated by Robert Freeman 7-5, 6-1. 

In Number 1 doubles: the LATC team of Kin Lam/Gordon Medford defeated Green/Sanchez of APTC 7-6, 6-1. 

In Number 2 doubles: Bob Benjamin/Joel Williams of the LATC was defeated by Morgan/Zorn in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 1-0. 

In Number 3 doubles: the LATC team of Jerry Morzinski/Bob Nolan defeated the APTC team of Talbot/Weems.
