Elkins Top Predictor in Weekly Pace Race

PACE RACE News:

Paul Elkins was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held at the Ponderosa Campground Trail in the Bandelier National Monument. 
 
He was 27 seconds off his predicted time. Ted Williams had a 47 second differential and Ted Romero was next at 108 seconds off.
 
Tom Sandford was the fastest one mile runner with a time of 13:33 and the top female in the one mile race was Sue Elkins at 16:45.

Take Off With Jemez Mountain Trail Runs May 25

Hundreds of athletes from across the Southwest will make a run for Los Alamos to compete in the 8 annual Jemez Mountain Trail Runs May 25.

Runners have already filled the available spaces for the popular half-marathon for which there is now a wait list.

The competitive half-marathon, 50-mile and 50K runs take place along single track trails and dirt roads in the idyllic Jemez Mountains, including Pajarito Mountain and the Valles Caldera National Preserve, the Southwest region’s only supervolcano.

If you love baseball and softball and are looking for a way to become involved in youth sports but don’t have the time to commit to coaching a team, umpiring may be the perfect way to volunteer for White Rock Little League.

 

Every Minor A, Major, Junior and Senior game requires two umpires, so there are plenty of opportunities to call a game.

The typical time commitment for an umpire is 30 minutes prior to the game time until approximately 10 minutes after game time. (Average game time is two hours.) You can call as many or as few games as you like.
