Pastor Granillo: Caretakers

By Pastor Raul Granillo
Los Alamos

Caretakers.

God placed Human in the garden to reflect his image into the new world he was making— that is, to be the means, present and visible, whereby his own care of the garden and the animals would become a reality. And if Human was going to do this, Human was going to have to keep in tune with God.” – N.T. Wright.

Mankind was created with two basic purposes. The first was to exist in the presence of God—that is, every person was created to be in a sanctified relationship with God. We were made to enjoy, worship, and love God for eternity. The second was to care for and Read More

Pastor Granillo: Difference Between Ham And Eggs

By Pastor Raul Granillo
Los Alamos

The Difference Between Ham and Eggs.

The difference between involvement and commitment is like ham and eggs. The chicken is involved; the pig is committed.” Martina Navratilova

I wonder how many Christians today are involved rather than committed to obedience to God’s commands. How many Christians get involved with loving God and loving their neighbor instead of being committed to loving God and loving their neighbor? I wonder how many people have really considered the difference.

Asa, the great-great-grandson of king David, was also a king of Judah. Read More

Pastor Granillo: A House Of Hope

By Pastor Raul Granillo
Los Alamos

A House of Hope.

In 1 Chronicles, chapter 17, we read that David is grateful for all of the things that God has done for him. In response to his love for God, David decided that he wanted to build God a permanent house. David wanted to build the temple. When he finally heard back from the prophet Nathan concerning this, instead of giving him His blessing, God tells David “No, you will not build me a house. Instead, I will build one for you.”

God had blessed David, protected David, brought victories to David, and peace to Israel through David’s leadership, and now, God wanted Read More

Pastor Granillo: Unworthy Requests

By Pastor Raul Granillo
Los Alamos

Unworthy Requests.

We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. (Daniel 9:18 NIV)

My children usually begin a request for something by making a case. If you have kids, then you know what I mean. “Dad, since Kyle had a snack, can I have one?” Or, “You let Sienna stay up late last night, I should get to tonight.” It goes to show that we struggle with understanding grace. That is, we struggle with believing that anyone would give us anything unless it is justified. This is why we spend a great deal of our lives justifying why we deserve Read More

Pastor Granillo: Mighty Warrior

Pastor Raul Granillo
Los Alamos

Mighty Warrior.

Most everyone knows the story of David and Goliath. How a small boy with a big heart took down the enemy’s prize warrior, who was a giant compared to most people. From there, David only became more famous in Israel. He led the king’s armies to many victories. He was revered for his courage and faith under great pressure and against great adversaries. 1 Chronicles 11 tells us that David was made king and then began fortifying the kingdom and building cities. “And David became more and more powerful, because the LORD Almighty was with him” (1 Chron. 11:9 Read More
