Local Detectives Collecting Unused Prescription Drugs Saturday

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. April 28 in the Los Alamos Medical Center Parking lot, detectives from the Los Alamos Police Department will participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) fourth National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The event provides a safe way for the general public to deposit expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs and also to prevent pill abuse and theft.

April 12 at 9:46 a.m. / Los Alamos National Laboratory reported that it was the victim of larceny in the 800 block of Mesita Del Buy. The estimated loss is less than $2,500.

Crash Shuts Down Main Hill Road Today

Following a two-vehicle crash on the Main Hill Road about 4 p.m. today, Santa Fe County Sheriff’ deputies charged the driver of a silver 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle with DWI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and driving without a license.

Vehicle Plows into McDonalds

A vehicle crashed into the front wall of McDonald’s at 1247 Trinity Dr. this morning. People were sitting at tables eating on the other side of the wall where the impact occurred. Employees said no one was injured and that they believe the 95-year-old driver was parked and he inadvertently put the car in drive rather than reverse and stepped on the accelerator when attempting to leave the restaurant.
