Chamber Of Commerce Welcomes Prism Pups Grooming Salon To Downtown Los Alamos With Ribbon Cutting May 7

CHAMBER News:

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the opening of the new pet grooming center “Prism Pups Grooming Salon” with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at 927 Central Ave. in downtown Los  Alamos.

Owner Stacy Buck said she is thrilled to open a full-service pet grooming business in downtown Los Alamos, a few doors down from the MVD. “Prism Pups” will offer full grooming services including bath, blow dry, brushing, nail trim, haircuts and  more. They will also offer hair coloring for dogs. The Salon will be open Tuesday to Friday by appointment only.

Santa Fe Community Orchestra To Present Concert May 19

SFCO News:

The Santa Fe Community Orchestra (SFCO) will present a free performance of three widely acclaimed works:

          • Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol;
          • Florence Price’s Adoration; and
          • Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, orchestrated by Maurice Ravel.

Three Vehicle Accident With Minor Injuries On Truck Route

A three vehicle crash with minor injuries occurred this morning at the bottom of the truck route. The accident included a bus carrying just one passenger. The accident is affecting eastbound traffic on N.M. 501. The Library Board heard a presentation recently by Librarian Norma Covington on the library’s efforts to make the library more accessible to all users.

An accessibility statement has been added to the draft revision of the Library policies stating, “The Library will assist those with special needs, in compliance with federal and state law. The Library is committed to providing equal access to all patrons, including those with disabilities, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).”

Crews Working On Second Water Break In Quemazon

COUNTY News:

Water crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) are working on an emergency water leak on Quemazon again today within the same area as where a water valve failed last week. Water is off for houses in the immediate vicinity of the break and is expected to remain off until at least 4 p.m. today.

After three days of review and discussions, the FY 2025 budget for Los Alamos County is approved.
