Marilyn Sue (Cover) Foster passed away unexpectedly October 13, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was born May 11, 1935, in Akron, Ohio to Berwyn and Hilda Cover. She married Richard Foster August 5, 1961, in Saint Sebastian Church in Akron, Ohio. They shared a beautiful 61 year marriage until his passing in 2023.
Marilyn graduated from the Elms High School, and the University of Akron and owned and operated the Cover School of Dance in Akron. She also graduated from the University of New Mexico and worked as a technical writer at the Los Alamos Read More

Daily Postcard: A bobcat lays in a shaded area and stares at the camera Tuesday in Bandelier National Monument. Named for their short “bobbed” tail, bobcats can weigh up to 40 lbs. They primarily eat rodents, rabbits and birds … but they will also scavenge on the kills of mountain lions. They are found throughout Bandelier. Bobcats are most active at dawn and dusk, so you may not see them on your visit. Keep an eye out, however, for other signs like their prints and scat. The Los Alamos Golf Course will adjust its operating hours for the winter season beginning Monday, Nov. 4, 2024.
The golf course and golf shop will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The golf shop will be open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, with all rentals required to be returned by 4:30 p.m.
These changes will remain in effect until Dec. 8, 2024, subject to course and weather conditions.
Golfers should stay updated on any changes by visiting the Los Alamos County website or contacting the golf course directly.

NMSP Investigates Shooting Of Child At Home In Clayton
CLAYTON – On Oct. 29, 2024, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau investigated a shooting at 301 Magnolia St. in Clayton.
Investigations Bureau agents learned at approximately 7:30 a.m., Clayton Police Department officers were dispatched to 301 Magnolia St. in reference to an 8-year-old female that had been shot inside the residence.

FBI: Mescalero Man Gets 46 Months For Stabbing Woman
ALBUQUERQUE – A Mescalero man was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for the repeated stabbing of a woman on the Mescalero Apache reservation.
There is no parole in the federal system.
According to court documents, on May 18, 2023, Lestat Cree Valdez, 21, an enrolled member of the Mescalero Apache tribe, straddled Jane Doe and stabbed her repeatedly in the head, face, and chest with a knife, with the intent to cause bodily harm. As a result of the assault, Jane Doe suffered serious bodily injury.
