On behalf of the Los Alamos Arts Council, we would like to thank the cast members of Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of “The Jungle Book” for their wonderful performance.

The final Tuesdays at the Pond show is 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Ashley Pond Park. It features Marcos Cavalcante and Band.

Tuesdays at the Pond, a summer entertainment series, has brought a variety of entertainment acts to the Ashley Pond stage in downtown Los Alamos every Tuesday evening since June 2.

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has selected Regional Development Corporation (RDC) Executive Director Kathy Keith as the incoming director of the Community Programs Office.

Keith has served as executive director of the RDC for more than four years, joining the organization in January 2011. During her tenure at the RDC, she introduced the Business Expansion and Retention Program, the Northern New Mexico 20/20 Campaign and the Native American Venture Acceleration Fund. Janet “Suzie” Boulden, born March 28, 1947, died peacefully at her home July 29, 2015. Her untimely death was a result of terminal cancer.
 
Suzie was preceded in death by her Father, Hogul; Mother, Juanita; Sisters, Charlene and Sheri; and Grandson, Logan Collins. She is survived by daughters, Tonya Collins of White Rock, NM and Susan Dukat of Larkspur, CO; Stepson Steven Boulden of Carlsbad, NM; and Life Partner, Delbert Pederson of Los Alamos, NM, as well as a large extended family and many loving grandchildren.

Bench Warrant Round Up Will Follow Amnesty Period To Encourage Parents To Pay Child Support

Lightning Kills Motorcycle Driver On US Highway 64

NMSP News:

RIO ARRIBA COUNTY – At approximately 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, officers from the New Mexico State Police responded to the scene of a single motorcycle crash. This crash occurred at mile marker 202 on US Highway 64.

The initial investigation revealed a 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on US 64 when the driver, identified as Juan Trujillo, 37, of Los Ojos was struck by lightning. Trujillo was not wearing a helmet. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Results of the final Splash n Dash of the 2015 season have been announced and are listed below.

Other upcoming events for the Triatomics Club include a training “Brick” this Saturday. Anyone is welcome but this brick will be targeted toward first timers. We’ll ride and run the course of the Los Alamos Triathlon and spend some time talking about the transitions and pre-race preparations. We’ll leave at 7 a.m. from the front of the Aquatic Center.
