Members of the Los Alamos Class of 1995 received a tour of the high school courtesy of their former principal, Cheryl Pongratz.

The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation provides a complimentary tour of the high school to class reunion groups each summer.

Last Saturday several foundation board members led by Pongratz, took a group from the Class of ‘95 and their family members on a tour of the school. Other Foundation board members helping to facilitate the tour were former school board members, Judy Bjarke-MacKenzie and Morrie Pongratz, as well as current LAHS student board member Rachel Walstrom.

After Pongratz explained what’s new and what’s old within the largest building, the group toured the math classroom of Joy Handsberry, the Black Box Theater and room E-19, which is located in a portion of the campus that was built in the early 60s.

The Foundation was instrumental in a “classroom makeover” of E-19, upgrading the labs, providing new desks, lighting, flooring and numerous technology upgrades.
