Letter To The Editor: We Are Open, Alternate Phone Numbers

By PHILIP J. DABNEY, Esq.
Philip J. Dabney, P.C.

Dear Community members:

As part of improvements to our law office, Reid Griffith and I recently upgraded our telephone system without changing the call-in number of 662-3911. Unintended consequences have caused random callers to receive a message indicating that the phone has been disconnected. That is not the case!

While we are working to resolve this issue, please call us on other numbers if you cannot reach us by the direct number above: 662-3912 or 257-3625. You also can reach me on my mobile phone at 695-6485.

We apologize for any inconvenience Read More

Letter To The Editor: Still Feeling Hurt And Resentful …

DIANE L. SMITH
Los Alamos

I am always amazed and humbled by the outpouring from the community when someone needs help or loses a loved one. Donations and flowers abound!

Two years ago, my grandson died. He was not born yet, but he was full term. This was the most traumatic and devastating experience of mine, my daughter’s and my son in law’s life.

Apparently, since this child was not born yet, people thought this should be swept under the rug like a dirty little secret. Because of this perception, I did not receive anything from the people around me whom I thought cared about me.

To this day, I am hurt and Read More
