NMDWS Launches Plan To Educate Employers On New Minimum Wage Legislation And Their Responsibilities To Avoid Errors And Non-Compliance

ALBUQUERQUE The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) is working closely with the New Mexico Restaurant Association (NMRA), Association of Commerce and Industry (ACI), and the Statewide Chamber Executives (SCE) to educate employers on minimum wage requirements and the state statutes around labor law.
 
Employers who are well informed and have received training, tools, and resources will be in a position to avoid errors and non-compliance with regards to paying the appropriate wages to their employees and avoiding settlements of wage claims.

ALBUQUERQUE Attorney General Hector Balderas has announced the default judgement against an out-of-state non-profit organization that was not complying with state law.
 
This judgement against the “For All Kids” Foundation is the first of its kind in New Mexico, and the first as part of a statewide charity compliance sweep being conducted by the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General.
 
“New Mexican families and consumer trust non-profits in our state to serve the benevolent purposes that they claim,” Balderas said.

The Albuquerque FBI Division has presented the 2018 Director’s Community Leadership Award to the Mescalero Apache Tribe Violence Against Women Awareness Program (VAWA).

State Police Special Investigations Agents Conduct ‘Minor Compliance’ Operation In Santa Fe

SANTA FE The New Mexico State Police Special Investigations Unit conducted a Minor Compliance operation Friday in Santa Fe.
 
During the operation, Special Investigations agents checked a total of 134 liquor establishments. Numerous establishments were cited for sales to minors and other violations during the operation.

SANTA FE After studying conditions, including fuel moisture levels, weather forecasts, air quality and wind direction, fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) have decided to delay the previously announced Pacheco Canyon prescribed burn until Sunday, May 5.

Town of Bernalillo / Rio Rancho – There will be intermittent road closures beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of N.M. 528 and U.S. Highway 550.
