Public Works/Traffic Division Projects:
Tsikumu Village – Road Improvements:
Albuquerque Asphalt is continuing work to mill and overlay the roadway. They will be working to correct subgrade issues Saturday, May 4 and will finish paving early next week.
Concrete work will resume the week of May 13 and be ongoing throughout the development that week to place concrete collars on manholes and utility valves, along with minor road work. The project team greatly appreciates the property owners’ assistance throughout the project to keep vehicles off the roadway and allow paving operations; residents are asked to continue to keep vehicles off Seminole Street as well as 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 4, Monday and Tuesday so that the Contractor can complete the project.
Access to residences as well as mail/package delivery, school and transit routes, emergency services, trash/recycle/yard waste pick-up will be maintained.

Other road construction projects:
N.M. 502 Roundabout and Road Reconstruction (NMDOT Project)
This week: Star Paving will be wrapping up work on the detour pavement on the north side of N.M. 502 (Eastern area residential/airport side) and along the west shoulder of 4th Street to Central Avenue. During detour paving, flagging operations will be in effect 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and traffic may be stopped for short durations for one lane passage through the work zone.
Next week: Beginning May 15, the common trench for underground utilities will begin construction at the western end of the work zone; weather permitting. The two-way traffic will be shifted to the north side of the road for installation of utilities between Tewa Loop and Sombrillo Court.
Traffic advisories from NMDOT are available on and motorists are asked to check the site for updates on this project as it proceeds.
Omega Bridge/E. Jemez Road Work with Full Road Closure on Weekends (NNSA Project)
Road closures for East Jemez Road are scheduled for the weekends of May 3-5 and May 10-12 to allow for open trenching. Lane closures and, at times, full road closures are necessary to allow workers to replace a main water line, which requires open trenching across East Jemez Road, between Omega Bridge and the LANL entrance. Seek alternate routes; allow time for delays both weekends.
Questions or concerns about the project can be directed to Seproadwork@nnsa.doe.gov.
TA-21 Clean Up Project – DP Road (N3B Project)
Clean up work on the LANL TA-21 Site at the far eastern end of DP Road continues. Large trucks carrying away demolition debris containers will be exiting DP Road at an average of approximately three trucks per day. Motorists are asked to be alert for trucks exiting; use caution when entering or exiting DP Road, as this area is near the N.M. 502 Road Reconstruction project.
