NIMA DIANE WARD May 4, 1934 – March 2, 2026
Nima Diane Ward, beloved mother, teacher and legislative advocate, died March 2, 2026, at the age of 91. She passed peacefully at St Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe surrounded by family. Nima was born May 4, 1934, in Los Angeles, CA to David and Mable Roland.
She graduated from Augustana College in Moline Illinois with a BA in education 1955. Nima met John Ward at Augustana, and the couple soon married and moved to Los Alamos, NM in 1957 where Nima began teaching second grade at Aspen Elementary and would go on to raise her family of four boys. The County Sustainability Office, in partnership with Public Works, is excited to announce that two, new direct-current fast-charging stations are coming to Mesa Public Library. This is the next step in expanding the community’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

Fugitive Who Stole Dead Man’s Identity For Four Decades Pleads Guilty To Fraud Charges

ALBUQUERQUE — A fugitive who lived for more than 40 years under the stolen identity of a deceased Arkansas man pleaded guilty to federal identity theft, passport fraud, and firearms offenses.
According to court documents, Stephen Craig Campbell, 73, assumed the identity of Walter Lee Coffman, who died in 1975 at the age of 22, just months after graduating from the University of Arkansas with an engineering degree in the early 1980s. Campbell first applied for a U.S. passport in Coffman’s name in 1984 and renewed it multiple times, always submitting his own photograph and current address. Read More

County Asks Drivers To Use Caution During Water Line Replacement Along Los Alamos Airport Starting Monday

Starting Monday, June 8, drivers are asked to use caution as work begins on the replacement of a 14-inch water transmission main along East Road/N.M. 502, across from the airport.
The project is anticipated to be completed by the fall.
Construction will primarily occur south of the east-bound shoulder; however, traffic control measures will be in place east of the Fire Station 6 entrance and at the first curve before the Canyon Rim trailhead.
