New Mexico Unemployment Rate 3.5% In May 2023

New Mexico’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in May, unchanged from the rate in April and down from 4.1 percent in the previous year.

The national unemployment rate in May was 3.7 percent, up from 3.4 percent in April and up from 3.6  percent in May 2022.  

Total nonagricultural payroll employment grew by 20,900 jobs, or 2.5 percent, between May 2022 and May 2023. ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions is implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for individuals logging in to the New Mexico Workforce Connection Online System (https://www.jobs.state.nm.us); a portal to both employment services and the Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System.

MFA will provide an additional layer of security for a layered defense to mitigate against unauthorized access of Department of Workforce Solutions online services.
