State Police Participate In MADD Saturation Aug. 24

ALBUQUERQUE The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) will participate in Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Saturation Saturday, Aug. 24.
 
NMSP is partnering with the New Mexico Department of Transportation, MADD and other law enforcement agencies in an effort to end DWI. NMSP, Department of Public Safety, NMDOT, MADD and other law enforcement agencies across the state and nationwide, will join forces to announce Saturation at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.

Cimarron To Complete Scenic Byway Project

SANTA FE New Mexico MainStreet and New Mexico Resiliency Alliance announced that Cimarron Alive has received a $12,500 Resilient Communities Fund grant to support the completion of the Scenic Byway Trail project along U.S. 64.

SFNF: Slight Increase In Cueva Fire Behavior

SFNF News:
 
SANTA FE Outflow winds from a thunderstorm increased fire behavior on the Cueva Fire on the Coyote Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF), adding an additional 108 acres and moderately increasing smoke to the west and south of the fire.
 
The SFNF took advantage of the lightning-caused Cueva Fire to add low-intensity fire to the ground to reduce fuel loadings and create a more fire-resilient landscape.

SANTA FE The New Mexico Department of Transportation Commission has approved nearly $50 million in Local Government Transportation Funds to improve city, county and tribal roads across the state.
