SANTA FE — Friday, the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) announced that free COVID-19 printed materials are available to New Mexico businesses, organizations, community members and schools.
Individuals can choose from three different kits, which include banners, posters, flyers and postcards.
To obtain a kit follow these steps:
- Write “NMDOH Order” into the subject line of an email to abqne@minutemanpress.com
- In the body of the email, include a contact name, organization name, email, and phone number.

SANTA FE — Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) are tentatively planning a 105-acre prescribed burn on Borrego Mesa on the Española Ranger District a week from today, Friday, Oct. 15.
The treatment area is located approximately two miles east of the community of Cordova. Crews will complete the Borrego Mesa prescribed burn in one day.
A final decision on whether to proceed with a specific prescribed burn on the SFNF will depend on multiple conditions, including resource availability, fuel moisture levels, air quality and forecasted weather. Prescribed burns

QUAY COUNTY — At 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) was contacted by the South Carolina Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, who requested assistance in locating a homicide suspect wanted by the Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office.
The Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office had reason to believe that the suspect, David Banacek Tracy, 45, of South Carolina, was traveling west in a blue SUV towing a white trailer, on Interstate 40.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update Oct. 7: 1,025 New Cases, Totaling 257,9707, 14 New Deaths, 228,486 Recovered

SANTA FE — State health officials announced 1,025 additional COVID-19 cases Thursday in New Mexico.
Los Alamos County reported 34 new cases Thursday, bringing the total to 720 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 212 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 47 new cases in Chaves County
