Seasonal Positions Available On Santa Fe National Forest

SANTA FE — Interested in a seasonal position on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) in spring 2022?

The Forest Service will be accepting applications on USA Jobs starting Nov. 5 and closing Nov. 12.

The SFNF will be hiring seasonal employees to work in a variety of  management areas in the upcoming application period.

Management Areas Include:

  • Wildland Fire
  • Recreation
  • Plants/Wildlife
  • Timber
  • Archaeology
  • Natural Resources

Diego Prescribed Burn On Cuba District Is A Go Today

SFNF News:

SANTA FE – After a successful test fire today, fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) are proceeding today with the previously announced Diego prescribed burn on the Cuba Ranger District.

The 374-acre treatment area is north of the community of Gilman and 1 mile east of the Rancho del Chaparral Girl Scout Camp.

SANTA FE — The cross-partisan Citizen Redistricting Committee (CRC) has  submitted its final report and three district plans each for Congress, State Senate, State House and Public Education Commission to the  Legislature officially ending its terms of service.

The Committee’s evaluation includes a report prepared by David Cottrell, an independent expert, who evaluated each plan for partisan fairness and concluded that every plan recommended by the Committee is partisan fair.

DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Nets Nearly 745,000 Pounds Of Unneeded Medications

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), along with its law enforcement partners, has removed nearly 745,000 pounds of unneeded prescriptions from medicine cabinets across the country as part of DEA’s ongoing commitment to turn the tide against the U.S. opioid epidemic.

Following last month’s 21st National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the program has removed more than 15.2 million pounds of medication from circulation since its inception.
