ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Crime Suppression Unit conducted a nearly 40-day undercover narcotics operation resulting in 36 individuals being charged with felonies.

The operation, which began Aug. 17, and ran through Sept. 24, focused on individuals who were suspected of trafficking illegal narcotics through various social media platforms.

Health Dept. Reminds New Mexicans To Activate $100 Incentive Cards

NMDOH News:

SANTA FE — The Department of Health reminds New Mexicans to activate their $100 COVID-19 vaccine incentives if they have not already done so.

The incentive will expire six months from the date individuals received it (either by email, text, or a physical card). After six months, the incentive can no longer be claimed. 

New Mexicans with questions can e-mail covid.vaccines@state.nm.us. Please note, technical support for the incentive program will end Nov. 12, 2021.

Monday, Nov. 1 marks the start of New Mexico’s last trapping season on public lands.

Roxy’s Law will take effect April 1, 2022 and effectively end the use of traps, snares and poisons across all public lands in the state.

But there is one more trapping season to get through first. That means that from Monday, Nov. 1 until March 15, 2022, you can expect to find dangerous, cruel traps and snares awaiting the paws and claws of unsuspecting wildlife and companion animals throughout New Mexico.

FBI: Chaparral Man Gets 19 Years In Prison For Kidnapping

FBI News:

ALBUQUERQUE — Roberto Carlos Cervantes, 27, of Chaparral, was sentenced Wednesday in Federal Court to 19 years and seven months in prison for kidnapping.

Upon his release from prison, Cervantes will be subject to three years of supervised release.

According to the plea agreement and other public court documents, he and four co-defendants abducted the victim from a travel center in Mescalero, April 4, 2019. Cervantes and Joshua Bowen, 28, of Alto, each had a firearm at the time. Cervantes hit the victim in the face several times. They also tied and bound the victim in an attempted robbery. Read More
