New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 1,645 New Cases, Total Now 153,456 With 30 New Deaths And 75,883 Patients Recovered

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced this afternoon 1,645 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County reports 7 new cases today … the total is now 334 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 30 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reports today the most recent cases:

  • 430 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 1 new case in Catron County
  • 76 new cases in Chaves County
  • 22 new cases in Cibola County
  • 30 new cases in Colfax County
  • 53 new cases in Curry County
  • 5 new cases in De Baca County

Los Alamos Middle School Shines At Vocabulary.com

Los Alamos Middle School has been named a New Mexico State Top 10 school at Vocabulary.com.

Los Alamos Online Learning Academy (LAOLA) Upper Academy students mastered 600 words during the month of December. The 2020-21 Vocabulary Bowl season runs Oct. 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021.

Eleanor Simons, a LAOLA 6th grade teacher, originally signed up at Vocabulary.com several years ago in the name of Los Alamos Middle School, but the recent accolade “is really for the LAOLA students,” Simons said.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) today released its distribution plan for Phases 1B, 1C and 2 for the COVID-19 vaccine.
