Los Alamos Middle School Cross Country Update

SPORTS News:
 
The Los Alamos Middle School Cross Country team is mid-way through its season and the winning tradition is as strong as ever.
 
The Hawks have competed in races at Cochiti (Aug. 31), Academy for Technology and Classics (Sept. 9) and this week at Albuquerque Academy (Sept. 20).
 
The 8th grade boys group has tremendous depth this season. In fields of 80-100 competitors, the top 8-10 runners have been finishing within 45s of their lead runner, resulting in a perfect record of 3 team wins in three outings, and many top 20 placings.

White Rock Woman Charged With Embezzling Thousands From LAYFCL

A White Rock woman was arrested Thursday and charged with embezzling thousands of dollars from the non-profit Los Alamos Youth Football and Cheerleading League (LAYFCL). Tabatha Jones was taken into custody following an interview with Los Alamos Police Det. Ryan Wolking during which she allegedly admitted to having spent the League’s money for personal use.
