An 8.8 pound metal ball and a whole lot of hard work have taken former Los Alamos High School athlete Chase Ealey a long way. Ealey won the women’s shot put event in the Toyota USA Track and Field Indoor Championships held Feb. 22-24 New York City. She threw the shot 18.62 meters, which is just over about 61 feet.
