Pinon Students Clown Around With Legendary Lou Pierotti

In 1953, Lou Pierotti of Los Alamos formed Pierotti’s Clowns, the only five-man fast-pitch softball team in the nation.  

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Pierotti, now in his 90s, shared the story of the Clowns with fourth, fifth and sixth grade students at Pinon Elementary School in White Rock and answered their questions about the team. Read More

Weekly Pace Race Cancelled Due to Weather

ACRR News:
 
Atomic City Road Runners Club has announced that this week’s pace race scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10 near the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area was cancelled due to rainy conditions. 
 
The trail that was to be utilized for the race was totally flooded by rain water.
 
Next week’s race will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 and will be the “Bridges Loop” on the trail into the canyon behind the Aquatic Center on Canyon Road.  1 and 3 mile trail courses will be available and a 1 mile paved course on Canyon Road for strollers and those who prefer a paved course will

Yum Run Supports Work of LA Cares

LA Cares runs the food bank in Los Alamos. They feed 65-75 families a month. Families receive a box of staples like rice, noodles, and beans.They can “shop” for specialty items. LA Cares also provides rent and utility payment assistance for people who have fallen behind and are in danger of having their utilities shut off or losing their housing.
