Moratorium For Furloughed Utility Customers In Los Alamos

COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is prepared to help ease the burden of utility expenses for furloughed federal employees during the federal government shutdown.
“While we can’t reduce or cancel out billings, we can work with our customers who have been furloughed to ensure their utility services remain on while they aren’t collecting paychecks,” said Deputy Utility anager Joann Gentry.

Cut Fiber Caused Internet, Cell Outage – Service Restored
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County officials announced in an update to the community the cause of the countywide Lumen internet and cellular outage on Tuesday, affecting all of Los Alamos County, including White Rock.
Lumen has reported that the exact point of failure has been identified. The damage, a cut fiber line, was caused by construction work north of Santa Fe.
