The League of Women Voters of Los Alamos (LWV) will host its monthly event, Lunch with a Leader, for the community from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the Unitarian Fellowship Hall on Sage Loop.
The speaker will be Marcela Diaz, founding executive director of Somos Un Pueblo Unido, a statewide immigrant-based organization that works to promote racial and worker justice.

Taos County Sheriffs Recover Body Of Los Alamos Man Beneath Rio Grande Gorge Bridge

The Taos County Sheriff’s Office reports that it recovered the body of Chad Maestas, 19, of Los Alamos, on Sunday beneath the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.
The report indicates that Maestas jumped from the bridge.
Taos County Sheriff Steve Miera said that Maestas made two passes, circled around, and when security tried to intercept him, he got out of his vehicle and jumped over the bridge railing.
