OKLAHOMA CITY – Nov. 13, 2024, is World Kindness Day, a great time to focus on spreading kindness throughout our schools and communities. While it would be great not to need a day dedicated to reminding ourselves to be kinder, the statistics surrounding bullying support the idea that we indeed do need such a day. One anti-bullying organization is inspiring others to use the day to spread kindness and help reduce bullying.

Not long ago, I drove to Colorado and Wyoming to visit family members I hadn’t seen in a few years. It was mostly a social visit, although I’ve been working on the family history and genealogy and wanted to gather more information.
I figured politics might come up. We may share genes, but we don’t share political beliefs. Still, I was curious about what they were thinking and why.
My cousins and I are pretty different people. I was the first on both sides to go to college. Some cousins are high school dropouts, and others graduated from high Read More

Nella Domenici is in a pickle. As the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in New Mexico, Domenici has found it difficult to close the 9-to-10-point gap she has with the incumbent Democrat, U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich.
After 55 years on the East Coast, the 63-year-old Domenici, a hedge fund CFO, decided to return to New Mexico. She announced for the U.S. Senate in January 2024.
Her entrance into the race was weak. When asked how she intended to win the race, her first response talked about putting $500,000 into the race, perhaps to discourage Read More

Fr. Glenn: Pondering Love
Periodically I pick up a little book by Peter Kreeft, a Catholic philosopher, entitled “Before I Go”, a collection of his musings about life and spirit that he wants to leave his children before he passes to the beyond. Unsurprisingly, a number of his short chapters focus on love, kindness, finding peace, and various virtues. Definitely worth the read.
In perusing a few chapters the other evening centering upon love, I found myself reflecting on the “why” of love. Why do we love. What do we want from it? Why do we do it? Why is it so visceral and seemingly ingrained into our very being? Read More

Those of us who claim a Christ-centered faith know we have not lived up to the model of the godly life set for us by Jesus. But we know that grace abounds and that our God is a god of love and mercy. We know we will get through whatever awaits us this week, as we always have. We do not expect a life without challenges. God’s promise is that we are loved no matter what befalls Read More
