FBI: Las Cruces Woman Sentenced To Prison For Federal Methamphetamine Trafficking Conviction

ALBUQUERQUE  Joclyn Telles, 35, of Las Cruces, was sentenced Tuesday in Federal Court to 60 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release for her methamphetamine trafficking conviction.

The unusual trajectory the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket took when delivering a Taiwanese satellite into orbit last August created an atmospheric shock wave four times bigger than the area of California, a new study finds.

USDA Investing Millions In Wildfire Mitigation

ALBUQUERQUE  The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will invest nearly $32 million this year to mitigate wildfire risk, improve water quality and restore healthy forest ecosystems in 24 states and Puerto Rico.
 
More than $383,800 of that funding will support numerous forestry projects on the Carson National Forest in New Mexico.
 
Since 2013, USDA has invested $176 million in 56 Joint Chiefs’ Landscape Restoration Partnership projects, which focus on areas where public forests and grasslands intersect with privately-owned lands.

During Binges, U.S. Adults Have 17 Billion Drinks A Year

CDC News:

U.S. adults consumed more than 17 billion binge drinks in 2015, or about 470 binge drinks per binge drinker, according to a first-of-its-kind study released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The study appears in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

CDC researchers found that 1 in 6, or 37 million, adults binge drink about once a week, consuming an average of seven drinks per binge. Binge drinking is defined as consuming five or more drinks for men, or four or more drinks for women, in about two hours.

In the Girls U13 Duke City Soccer League, the LAFC KIXX 2005 played the Four Corners United Crossfire 2005 March 10 and defeated them 1-0. It was a tough game, but the KIXX really came together and played well.

Coyote Ranger District French Mesa Prescribed Burn Starting Soon To Reduce Risk Of High-Severity Wildfire

SANTA FE  To take advantage of favorable conditions, to include fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts, fire managers on the Coyote Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) could begin ignitions as early as April or May on the French Mesa to reduce the risk of high-severity wildfire. 
 
Up to 1,000 acres of hazardous fuels may be treated per day by hand and air ignitions in the French Mesa fuelwood area. The total prescribed burn area is 3,580 acres.
