Hopkins: Important Reasons To Re-elect Christine Chandler

By JOHN C. HOPKINS
Los Alamos

I endorse Christine Chandler for re-election as New Mexico District 43 representative.

I have known Christine since she joined the Laboratory. She was an attorney and a group leader. She has a broad understanding of the issues faced by the Lab and understands their interactions with Northern New Mexico communities and with the Federal government.

During her tenure at the Lab and beyond, she has volunteered at the Los Alamos County, including a role as chair of the County Council. This has given her a sound understanding of the state and local governments.

Fr. Glenn: The Freedom Of Truth

By Fr. Glenn Jones

Is anyone—everyone—confused? Perhaps more than we think. With the onslaught of conflicting information concerning the various candidates in the upcoming election, it’s hard not to be. We find ourselves continuously having to ask: “Is this … or is it that … report which is correct; they are claiming essentially opposite things. Did this thing even really happen … and as they say it happened? Did he or she really do what is alleged?

Sigh. For those who want to be truly informed and not simply vote for the “correct” letter by a name, it can be a jungle out there. But, unfortunately, Read More

The time and attention given to personal insults and party slogans would better go to urgent work on problems.

Delay has varied shapes and sizes to see. The public forum churns with suspicions as to which sides may
