I endorse Christine Chandler for re-election as New Mexico District 43 representative.
I have known Christine since she joined the Laboratory. She was an attorney and a group leader. She has a broad understanding of the issues faced by the Lab and understands their interactions with Northern New Mexico communities and with the Federal government.
During her tenure at the Lab and beyond, she has volunteered at the Los Alamos County, including a role as chair of the County Council. This has given her a sound understanding of the state and local governments.
Christine has also worked for the New Mexico state legislature as an analyst of potential legislation. This has given her a broad perspective of the details of our state legislative process.
With this background, she is a natural to be our District 43 representative in Santa Fe.
Christine is very bright, one of the brightest in a town with many very bright people. She is thoughtful and thinks well on her feet. She has been an active member of the legislature and has not been afraid to tackle controversial issues. She is easy to talk to and is clear about her rationale for taking the positions that she has adopted. She is amenable to changing her mind, but only if presented with a well-reasoned rationale that she feels is superior to the position that she had taken.
Christine Chandler has been a very effective legislator who is always focused on what is best for New Mexico and for her constituents in District 43.
I strongly recommend re-electing District 43 Representative Christine Chandler.
