NHCC: $15,000 Grant Paves Way For Programs For Seniors

ALBUQUERQUE — The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) is thrilled to announce that it has received a $15,000 award from AARP New Mexico, which will fund a free multidisciplinary arts program for seniors, known as Siempre Creativo.

Los Alamos Public Schools is encouraging all eligible students to ride the school bus to or from school on Wednesday, Feb. 8 as part of “Ride the Bus” Day. This initiative not only helps the environment, but also funds the LAPS Transportation Department. The goal is to have 1,000 riders.

Toppers Tune Up For Districts At Fifteenth Annual Tom Casey Memorial Challenge At Academy

Fast, faster and fastest are the watchwords that applied to the competition at Albuquerque Academy Jan. 28, for the Fifteenth Annual Tom Casey Memorial Challenge.

“This was a good meet to get us ready for Districts,” Coach Chris Wetteland said. “It was very competitive, but we held our own with everyone contributing.”
