Valentine College Care Packages Support 2023 Educational Travel This Summer For Los Alamos High School Seniors

Send your college student a Valentine College Care Package from Los Alamos and support educational travel for 2023 seniors.

To raise funds for their summer tour, Europe 2023, travelers are putting together personalized Valentine packages again filled with goodies from home for college students.

For $40, Europe 2023 travelers will fill a Valentine College Care Package with treats (homemade cookies, candy, hot chocolate, tea; school supplies (sticky notes, pens, pencils); personal items (razors, toothbrushes, tissues); local fare (red and green chile); Valentine surprises, and hand-written notes from home.

To order, send an email with your college student’s name and address, along with any food restrictions or requests to Europe 2023 Group Leader, Lynn Ovaska at lynnovaska@gmail.com by noon Tuesday, Feb. 7. Packages will be mailed Wednesday, Feb. 8. Checks should be made payable to Europe 2023.

Europe 2023 travelers will be exploring France, Germany and the Alps in June. Earnings will help the group visit cultural and historical sites including Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Lake Lucerne, the Swiss Alps, Munich and much more.

As with past tours, the goal of Europe 2023 is to expand the world view of young adults before they head off to college. 

“By experiencing new cultures first-hand and history usually only learned in textbooks, these 2023 graduates will develop skills to be global citizens and independent adults,” Ovaska said.
