Boerigters Share Experiences Of Generosity & Grace Found Along 5,051-Mile Bike Ride With LAHS Sports Lit Class

Speaking to Los Alamos High School students in Lori Thompson’s Sports Lit classes Jan. 25-26, Steve and Kathy Boerigter of Los Alamos recounted their 5,051-mile tandem bike ride across America where they discovered generosity and grace along the way. The couple began their journey Aug. 2 from the Olympic Peninsula, ending Nov. 13, 2022 in Key West. The Boerigters pledged $1 a mile up to 5,000 miles and challenged the community to join them in supporting the Los Alamos Community Foundation and United Way of Northern New Mexico, which work ‘in tandem’ to support local area nonprofits. NMHM Hosts ‘They’re History’ Reuse Event Feb. 3

NMHM News:

New Mexico History Museum wants to help cleanse closets of leftovers with the free First Friday event “They’re History” 5-7 p.m., Feb. 3 at New Mexico History Museum, 113 Lincoln Ave. in Santa Fe.

But this isn’t just about starting fresh … visitors will learn how to take old magazines and books and start origami projects, make old t-shirts into fresh fits, and make Pal-entines to demonstrate their love for family and friends.

Toppers Swim & Dive To First Place In Hobbs

LAHS News:

Strong individual performances combined with team depth in relay events led the Topper swimmers and divers to a first-place finish at the Hobbs Reid Eagle Invitational meet Jan. 20-21.

“We saw great efforts by the entire team,” Coach Chris Wetteland said. “I’m happy that we had everyone compete so well. This shows the last month of hard work is paying off.” 

The Topper swimmers placed swimmers in the top five in 22 of the 24 events.
