County: Atomic Fiber Internet Service Providers Selected

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County is pleased to announce that four Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have signed contracts to provide service on Atomic Fiber once the county-owned community broadband network has been built.

The four ISPs are XMission, Anthem Broadband, Intellipop, and LANet. Residents and businesses can choose whether to switch to an ISP using the new open access network once it becomes available in their area.

Los Alamos County DWI Planning Council Encourages Participation In New Mexico Community Survey

The Los Alamos County DWI Planning Council invites community members over the age of 18 to take part in a brief, anonymous New Mexico Community survey hosted by the New Mexico Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (NMOSAP).

The survey focus is on alcohol and prescription drug use. By sharing honest feedback, participants will help provide valuable insights that can guide more effective support services and public health initiatives. The survey will be open until April 4.

The Los Alamos Public Library will host a Smartphone Photography 101 workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, at the White Rock Branch Library multipurpose room.

In response to the dry and warm winter season and associated wildfire concerns, Los Alamos County is expanding curbside bulk brush collection services offered to residents during the weeks of Feb. 23, March 9, and March 23. 

Please note the following guidelines and limitations, which help ensure that the curbside collection process runs smoothly and efficiently:

Los Alamos County Assessor Reminds Business Owners Of Personal Property Reporting Requirements Due By Feb. 28

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Assessor would like to confirm for local business owners that their annual Business Personal Property Declaration (BPP) forms were mailed out the last week of December 2025.

The purpose of these forms is to notify business owners of their current depreciated assets on file and to remind them of the statutory requirement to report to the Assessor any personal property they might be depreciating through the course of their business.

All required filings must be submitted no later than the last day of February per Section 7-38-8 NMSA 1978 of the state statute. Read More

County Issues Traffic Advisory On Crane Transport Through Town To Los Alamos Golf Course Set For Monday

As part of the HVAC upgrade project at the Los Alamos Golf Course Clubhouse, a 50-ton crane will travel through town on Monday, Feb. 23.

The crane’s route will follow N.M. 502/East Road to Trinity Drive and Diamond Drive, arriving at 4244 Diamond Dr. Movement is scheduled between noon and 1 p.m. Monday.

On Feb. 19, 2026, officers with the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) executed a court-authorized search warrant at a residence in Jemez Springs connected to the Feb. 17 arrests of three burglary suspects.
