COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County will host two public engagement open houses in March as part of its comprehensive plan update process. County residents are encouraged to attend and provide input.
This update to the 2016 comprehensive plan will serve as the County’s long-range planning policy guide and will shape decisions around land use, infrastructure, housing, transportation, and economic development for many years to come.

LAPD: Crash On East N.M. 502 Near Twin Tanks Area … Traffic Down To One Lane
LAPD News:
Los Alamos Police have responded to a single vehicle crash on East N.M. 502 around mile marker 8 and the Twin Tanks area. The vehicle involved was a truck, and the driver was transported with unknown injuries.

Los Alamos County Community Services Department has partnered with CivicPlus to implement its Recreation Management software, CivicRec. The cloud-based solution allows residents greater visibility into the offered park and recreation divisions’ activities, events, and memberships, as well as more convenient online registration and payment. It will also allow residents to search for and reserve community facilities, such as fields, RV camping, Lemon Lot spaces, pavilions, and shelters, all conveniently online.

This effort is a joint initiative between Public Works and the Department of Public Utilities and the design was completed by Los Alamos County Staff.
The project involves reconstruction of Ridgeway Drive, Questa Drive and Pueblo Drive between 34th and 35th streets. It also includes the connector streets 34th and 35th between Pueblo Drive and Ridgeway Drive.

Los Alamos Beer Cooperative, doing business as Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op (BRBC), has been selected by Los Alamos County to move forward with a proposal to operate a food-and-beverage concept at the Los Alamos Golf Course. Due to continued HVAC work at the Los Alamos County Golf Course clubhouse, the Pro Shop will be closed Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 6. The community can still reach staff by calling the Pro Shop phone number 505.662.8139.

County: Atomic Fiber Internet Service Providers Selected

Los Alamos County is pleased to announce that four Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have signed contracts to provide service on Atomic Fiber once the county-owned community broadband network has been built.
The four ISPs are XMission, Anthem Broadband, Intellipop, and LANet. Residents and businesses can choose whether to switch to an ISP using the new open access network once it becomes available in their area.
