The Shuree Ponds on the Valle Vidal are now open for fishing. The Valle Vidal is north and east of Questa by N.M. 522, which can be reached through the town of Costilla. This road enters the west boundary of the Vidal. To reach the east side of the Valle Vidal, take U.S. 64 from Cimarron to Forest Service Road 1950.

The ‘Strange Trio’  sculpture beneath a stormy sky early Monday evening at the corner of Meadow Lane and Overlook Road in White Rock. This 20-foot-tall metal sculpture, created by Tommy Hicks of Shidoni Foundry and Galleries in Tesuque, was originally installed at Ashley Pond Park until 2008, when strong winds toppled one leg of the sculpture. SANTA FE — The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) released updates for the month of June 2023 on the Enforcement Watch.

The Enforcement Watch is a listing of all active and resolved enforcement cases. Active cases involve an alleged violation of a regulation, rule, permit, license, etc. Resolved cases are those that were adjudicated in court of law or administratively resolved.

The Enforcement Watch also provides tools for the public to report alleged environmental or workplace safety violations.

May 10, at approximately 4 p.m., a wildfire started near Las Tusas – some of the only green forest left standing after the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon Fire last year.

Bear Spotted Struggling In Tree At IHM On Canyon Road

A bear was spotted struggling in a tree early Thursday morning on the grounds of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 3700 Canyon Road. The bear appeared to have its rear paw stuck as it was trying to get down from the tree.
