Youth Summer Job Applications Now Available

Applications for summer employment with The Family YMCA’s Youth Conservation Corps trail crew will be taken through 5 p.m., March 7.
 
Hiring for this program is restricted to those ages 14-25. Application packets and job descriptions are available on the Y’s website, at the YMCA 1450 Iris St., and at the Los Alamos and Espanola YMCA teen centers.
 
Completed applications require two letters of reference and may be turned in to the Y or the teen centers. Applicants must be New Mexico residents unemployed at time of hiring. Positions run from June 7 through August 5.
 
Trail crew members will earn $10/hours, and leaders, who must be 21-25 years of age, will earn $12/hours. Bus passes will be provided to youth who must commute to the job.

The Y was founded in 1955 by volunteers in Los Alamos who recognized a need for family activities. The Y is a charity whose mission is to build individual, family and community strength by focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Additionally, the Y ensures access to all though awards of scholarships. In 2015, the Y assisted 275 people with $100,000 is financial assistance.
