Wireless @ Mesa Public Library-All over the Place!

MESA PUBLIC LIBRARY News

Mesa Public Library has several multiuse spaces: meeting rooms, art gallery, Southwest Room, upstairs and downstairs rotundas, as well as many quiet nooks with fabulous views. So what’s been missing? Wireless! Now, instead of clustering only in the periodicals area and delving deeply into connection menus on wireless devices to find the correct network, patrons may access the internet from just about anywhere in the library, on any floor, any time during regular hours, and without an access code. While both White Rock Branch library and Mesa have had free, wireless and wired internet services for many years, having full wi-fi capability throughout the entire Mesa building will be a great plus for patrons and visitors alike. For folks accustomed to using the meeting rooms, the ability to access the internet will enhance presentations and present new possibilities. The expanded service applies only to Mesa Public Library at this time; White Rock Branch already has wireless throughout the building and will retain the current service which will still require a use code.

This description from Veronica Encinas, Head of References Services, who has spearheaded the wireless expansion project:

“At Mesa Public Library, providing easy access to information is what we do, and we’ve just made it easier! The wireless network at Mesa Public Library is expanding: we now have wireless available throughout the entire building at Mesa and no wireless key is needed. To join the wireless network users will only need to agree to the Wireless Use Guidelines to have free access to the Internet via our wireless network.”
