Teatro Paraguas: Flamenco Fiesta April 29-30

Teatro Paraguas will present two evenings of flamenco music and dance inspired by Federico Garcia Lorca, as well as selections of his poetry in Spanish and English, in commemoration of the eightieth anniversary of the poet’s death, at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday April 29-30.
 
Compania Chuscales y Mina Fajardo have performed numerous times at Teatro Paraguas.  Chuscales (Guitarist, Musical Director, Composer), a world-renowned guitarist of legendary technical and musical prowess, will be joined by fascinating group of flamenco artists, including Mina Fajardo (Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer), Fernando Barros Lirola (Singer, Historian, Author), Argos MacCallum (Actor), Alejandro Valle Fajardo (Percussionist) and company dancers Monze Diaz, Amanda Crocker, Zoe Whittle, Xochitle Ehrl, Heather Miro, Charles Brunn. 
 
Chuscales and Fernando Lirola both grew up in Lorca’s hometown in Granada, Spain, and have performed flamenco for decades. More information, including biographies of the company’s principal artists, is available here.
