Meanwhile, conservationists and Native American tribes are encouraging President Obama to proclaim a national monument to protect the Greater Canyonlands and Bears Ears region.
Terri Martin, Southwest Regional Organizer of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance will offer two presentations to Los Alamos:
- Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Los Alamos Nature Center, will focus on a pictorial tour of this spectacular area; and
- Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at UNM-LA (building 2, room 203), will focus on the “Campaign to Protect Utah’s Redrock Wildlands,” and the important role New Mexicans can play in protecting it.
